MusicHype.com has announced itself to the US market with two major music acts: Thievery Corporation & OK Go. Washington, D.C.-based recording artist Thievery Corporation, was looking for a technical partner who could specifically focus on music fans. Together with MusicHype Thievery Corporation developed a campaign & strategy to promote their new album, Culture of Fear. On MusicHype.com fans complete a number of missions to build up reward points. The most recent mission involves taking photos of security cameras & sharing them online. At the end of July the grand prize winner, with the most points, gets two VIP passes & flights to meet Thievery Corporation at Red Rocks, Colorado. "We were looking for partner who could help us reward Thievery Corporation fans easily online. MusicHype had the perfect solution for us with their Appreciation Engine. These guys focus specifically on the music vertical so it makes our job easy and give us, and our fans, what they want,” said Phil Hawken of ESL Music. Grammy award winning band OK Go, known for their high concept, one-shot music videos came to MusicHype to help them run an online, collaborative fan event. MusicHype used its Appreciation Engine® to build a custom campaign where fans could upload single colour photos and turn them into “digital confetti”. With close to 3,000 photos submitted the fan art has been turned into a confetti collage on www.musichype.com. “OK Go are a band who really know how to connect with their fans online. We give a lot of thought to that band-to-fan relationship and were looking for a partner with a nuanced understanding of that relationship and who had the technical infrastructure to execute our ideas. MusicHype really gets how music fans live online and have a platform that made our digital confetti campaign easy to deploy," said Mike Rosenthal of Paracadute Records.
