LookAfterMe provides the perfect platform to match travellers with local hosts based on interests and preferences. HyperStart HyperStart is an accelerator similar to YCombinator and TechStars that accepts competitive entry for young on-line start-ups to participate in a six-week intensive programme, taking entrants from idea through to product. The next HypeStart intake will start in November 2011 with the six week programme schedule for February/March 2012. ShowGizmo - Showgizmo.com ShowGizmo combines smartphone and web-based technology to create more productive, valuable events. The ShowGizmo platform enables event organizers, sponsors/exhibitors and visitors to access and manage information about events, shows and trade fairs, connect with each other using the wide range of platform functions to achieve better results and improve their return on investment. MusicHype - MusicHype.com MusicHype is a music industry platform provider which enables well-known bands and their fans to interact and form valuable relationships. MusicHype is powered by a custom developed "Appreciation Engine" which tracks fan-band interactions across all social networks. MusicHype launched in 2010 with iconic NZ band "The Mint Chicks" and has since worked with NZ artists like Annabel Fay, Grand Rapids and Crowded House before moving to the US to work with Thievery Corporation, Manchester Orchestra, T Mills and Ke$ha. DIY Father - diyfather.com DIYFather.com is an online interactive forum for dads that offers resources, discussion groups and practical information about parenting from a male perspective. DIYFather strives to is to assist men become the best fathers they can be. In February 2009, DIYFather published its first book, "Call Me Dad", which quickly rose to be a bestseller in New Zealand. Since then the company has published several books under the "For Dummies" brand and the three directors of DIYFather were voted "New Zealander of the Year" in 2010 by North&South Magazine. Base Diary - basediary.com Base Diary is a Software-as-a-Service practice management system for Dental Technicians. Base Diary automates all aspects of running a Dental Technician practice, from making appointments, to managing patient data and issuing invoices. Released in New Zealand in late 2008, endorsed by the New Zealand Institute of Dental Technicians, it quickly became the administration system of choice in New Zealand and Australia. The company is now expanding to other geographies and extending its customer base in all markets.
WebFund graduates: Bookhabit was our first startup, and was sold to Smashwords in late 2009. Smashwords has now merged Bookhabit's customers and content into their own system. The business concept was: Bookhabit is a market for fresh writing by undiscovered authors. Anyone can upload their book, and readers can discover a whole new world of niche subjects and writers that traditional publishers can never service. Bookhabit enables authors to self-publish works online for free, becoming part of an online library of works available to readers all over the world. The site includes fiction, non-fiction, plays and scripts, and has potential for any publishable work.Bookhabit made Start-Up magazine’s Top 10 Startups of 2008.
